Key Stats: DH Luis Campusano 1-for-4, BB, SB (2); LF Tirso Ornelas 1-for-5, SB (4), R; SS Clay Dungan 3-for-4, 3B, 2B, R, 2 RBI, BB; 2B Nate Mondou 2-for-5, 2B, HR (1), 3 RBI; LHP Jackson Wolf 5 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4 K; RHP Kevin Kopps IP, H; RHP Francis Peña IP, 2 H, 2 ER, K
Prospect Watch: On a warm El Paso afternoon when the ball was flying, Jackson Wolf kept the Rainiers in check enough to put the Chihuahuas in position for a win. The lefty needed 86 pitches to get through five innings of three run baseball, striking out four and walking three. The 26-year-old topped out at 92 mph while generating six whiffs, most of which came on his slider. While Wolf’s stats do not jump off the page, he has only allowed more than three runs in one of eight starts this season. … Kevin Kopps came on in relief and had a nice rebound after allowing three runs his last time out. Kopps gave up a hit to former Padre farmhand Blake Hunt, but faced the minimum when Hunt was thrown out trying to advance on a ball in the dirt. Kopps doesn’t blow batters away, topping out at 91 mph, but he does throw both his cutter and curve at near 3000 RBP, which makes it difficult to hit. … Tacoma hitters had to turn up the dial quickly as Francis Peña followed Kopps throwing his sinker 96-98. The 24-year-old, an option for the big league roster at some point this year, got two quick outs before allowing a bloop single. While it would have been a routine flyout in most settings, on a warm early afternoon in El Paso, it carried out to center for a home run. Peña has a 4.24 ERA on the year with 20 strikeouts in 17 innings. … Nate Moundou unleashed a 405-foot blast down the right field line for his first home run of the year. The 30-year-old also doubled in the third run of the game before hitting a ball 403 feet to fall just short of a grand slam. Mondou is is hitting .282/.384/.376 as he tries to get back to the majors for the first time since 2022 when he debuted with the then Oakland Athletics. … Clay Dungan started the game with a hard-hit ball to the gap which he easily converted for his fourth triple of the year. He later added a single, double, and walk to push his OPS in May to .938. The 28-year-old has seen time at around the infield and in center field while hitting .276/.392/.417 this year.

Key Stats: LHP Jagger Haynes 3.1 IP, 8 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 3 K; RHP Jose Gerardo 1.2 IP, 2 K; CF Nerwilian Cedeño 1-for-2, R, 2 BB; 1B Romeo Sanabria 2-for-5, RBI; SS Francisco Acuña 3-for-5, 2 R
Prospect Watch: After a brief slump to open the month Romeo Sanabria has turned it on again. After coming a triple short of the cycle Tuesay, the 23-year-old added two more hits and an RBI in this one. Over his last five games, he has gone 11-for-22 with three doubles, a homer, and one walk. On the year, he leads the club by a wide margin with a .879 OPS. … After spending nearly two years in the Summit City, Nerwilian Cedeño has gotten strong results in his first two games in San Antonio. After walking just seven times in 32 games with Fort Wayne this year, he drew a pair of walks in this contest. And while Cedeño had seven extra-base hits with Fort Wayne he already picked up his first double in the Texas League. He’ll look to continue to build on the great 3-for-6 start. … For the second start in a row, Jagger Haynes allowed four earned runs and walked three. Unlike his last outing, Haynes was unable to make it out of the fourth inning and only struck out three. The only member left from the Padres’ shortened 2020 draft class had struck out 22 in his three previous starts. … Jose Geraldo, who struggled for the first time last week, quickly righted the ship. The hard-throwing 26-year-old had not allowed a run all year until last week when he lost the plate. The righty got back on track with 1.2 perfect innings Wednesday, striking out two. On the year, he has held opponents to a .149 average in 13 innings while posting a 28.6% strikeout rate against a manageable 10.2% walk rate.
TinCaps rained out.
With scattered rain expected to continue through Thursday, the club will host Cedar Rapids in a seven-inning doubleheader on Friday.

Key Statistics: RF Victor Figueroa 2-for-4, HR (1), 2 RBI, BB; SS Ryan Jackson 3-for-5, 3B, HR (3), 2 R, 2 RBI; 3B Zach Evans 2-for-5, 2 R; 2B Yendry Rojas 2-for-3, 2B, BB; RHP Kleiber Olmedo 3 IP, 6 H, 5 ER, 2 K, 2 BB; RHP Braian Salazar 2.1 IP, H, R, 3 BB, 2 K
Prospect Watch: Victor Figueroa followed his two-hit Cal League debut with two more hits, including his sixth home run in two weeks. Last year’s 18th-round pick has been virtually unstoppable at the plate with 11 multi-hit games during a 12-game hitting streak that started the day after his professional debut on May 3. Even after his promotion, the 21-year-old is putting up video game numbers, batting .587/.642/.1.217. Figueroa made his first professional appearance in right field, committing one error as he tried to charge and pick up a single. … Ryan Jackson, who was selected one round ahead of Figueroa, had three hits, including a pair of extra-base knocks. Jackson has 46 hits and 43 walks in 41 games, good for a league-best .484 on-base percentage. Jackson showed off his speed, leading off the game with a triple. While the former USC Trojan has never been known for power, Jackson did hit his third home run. Over his last five games, Jackson is 14-for-23 with three stolen bases. … Figueroa moved to the outfielder to accommodate Lamar King Jr. being at first on a night he had off from catching while he continues to recover from surgery. King went 1-for-5 with a run in the game. He also had a key throwing error that contributed to an unearned run in the sixth. The DH slot remains unavailable to Figueroa as Kavares Tears still isn’t playing in the outfield yet as he recovers from hamstring issues. The former Tennessee Volunteer went 0-for-2 with two walks and a sac fly in his sixth consecutive start. He’s hitting .286/.371/.408 on the year.

Key Stats: 3B Eguy Rosario 2-for-4, R, RBI, BB, SB (1); CF Donte Grant 1-for-4, R, RBI, BB; SS Yimy Tovar 2-for-4, BB; 2B Ismael Javier 1-for-3, 2B, 2 R, BB; RHP Langston Burkett 3.1 IP, 9 H, 5 ER, 2 K; RHP Roberto Burgos 2.2 IP, H, 3 BB, 2 K
Prospect Watch: After playing the outfield Tuesday, Eguy Rosario was back on the infield at third base for this one. After a long fly out in the first, Eguy had an RBI single in his next plate appearance. He later walked and stole second before capping his night with another solid single in the ninth. In the midst of what the organization categorized as ‘a mid-season reset,’ the 25-year-old is looking to get back on track after a disappointing spring. … Rosario’s single scored Donte Grant, who reached base twice for just the fourth time in 15 games this year. The 20-year-old hit .300/.417/.333 before his season was cut short by an injury last year. … Roberto Burgos, 21, tossed 2.2 scoreless innings of relief. The 21-year-old righty has allowed only two earned runs in six innings in his first stateside campaign, holding opponents to a .105 average. Alarmingly, he has allowed nine walks against six strikeouts.
